Speak Money Not Love with the Master - Chapter 4.5
“It is my honour (T/N: or honor) to escort the goddess home.” Xu Zhi’ang opened the car door and invited her in with a hand gesture.
Both the server and bar manager of the bar were looking from the entrance. Ye Wei had shot down Xu Zhi’ang’s face not long ago, so if she didn’t give him face this time, she wouldn’t be able to get anything good out of it if they actually started to fight.
“Well then, sorry for the trouble.”
As Xu Zhi’ang walked towards the driver’s seat, Ye Wei seated herself in the car. Suddenly he turned towards her, at which, Ye Wei unconsciously shrunk back, full of wariness.
Xu Zhi’ang clicked his tongue, saying, “Seat belt.”
He planned to act like a gentleman, but in Ye Wei’s eyes, he just wanted to take advantage of her.
“Thank you for the reminder.”
Ye Wei, who was at her wit’s end, could only reluctantly tell him the address of her house. In the car, Xu Zhi’ang was no less annoying. He asked her what she wanted if not jewellery. Ye Wei silently mulled in her mind, ‘I want peace and quiet. Would you give that?’
Whatever he talked about, she followed. It was not a good idea to consult this matter to Luo Chengyu either. After all, these two people were fellow brothers (T/N Clarification: these two are cousins, just in case you forgot. Ye Wei’s just saying that they are very close like actual brothers).
She was clear about whom she was close or distant.
The time to get off the car came. Ye Wei turned around and gave her gratitude. Xu Zhi’ang rolled the windows down, asking, “What kind of person is your type?”
Ye Wei stopped in her steps and then spun around to reply, “A friend.”
“The type of man that can be a friend?”
It was obvious that he was misinterpreting on purpose. Ye Wei’s red lips parted, saying, “We can be friends.”
Xu Zhi’ang was perplexed; in what way was he not good enough? There was no woman that he could not get, whether it was in the entertainment or debutante circle. Fine, just wait and see. He won’t accept that there was someone who could actually resist under his strong offence (T/N: I know this way might sound weird for those living in the US. The usual way it’s spelled in the US is ‘offense,’ meaning that this boy here is going to go on the offensive now).
Xu Zhi’ang smiled malignantly as he took out his phone and got on Weibo. The ASS Rally Team Captain’s Weibo had 10 million followers. These people watched his actions closely, which was naturally due to Xu Zhi’ang’s reputation. Not many paid attention to the stuff about the rally.
@Xu Zhi’ang: I will be waiting for you, Ye Qinglan @Ye Wei
After this Weibo thread was posted, the car started towards the direction of the clubhouse.
Right after the Weibo thread was released, observant people eventually found the topic which implied that Xu Zhi’ang had something with Ye Wei.
Relying on Xu Zhi’ang to obtain <The Seamen>.
Having an ambiguous relationship with Xu Zhi’ang.
Young Master Xu was announcing that he loved Ye Wei. The two’s relationship was a mystery.
And so, a reign of carnage exploded on the internet, of which, Ye Wei was unaware. Not much time had passed after she took a bath and got on her bed. She kept thinking about the matter concerning her role in <The Seamen>.
She sent a message over: Thank you.
At that moment, Luo Chengyu was in his car. He had eaten dinner with his parents at his childhood home and after he chatted with his father about the overseas market, it had become late.
Nodding off, he closed his eyes.
When the notification sounded, Wei Wei opened her long and narrow eyelids. Her eyes, which glimmered coldly, cast a glance towards the direction of the phone. In the end, she closed them once again.
Ye Wei saw that he didn’t return a message, so she didn’t continue to send anything more.
Luo Chengyu got out of the car. Servants respectfully lined up to greet him. As he strode up the stairs, the servants took the outerwear that he stripped off and came over to help him unbutton his shirt as well. Luo Chengyu waved his hand, as he lifted to pull off his necktie. Just then, his phone rang yet again.
Ye Wei: How did that affair leak out?
Luo Chengyu didn’t have the habit of texting for casual purposes. He dialled her phone number directly.
“What leaked out?”
Ye Wei never thought that he would respond by calling. The number of times they called could be counted with just one hand. If it were not for today’s matter, she wouldn’t have spoken with this master.
For this guy, other than being able to be passionate in bed, he was usually cold.
“The matter about how your house had a woman is all over the net right now. It’s impossible for it to have leaked from my side, so it’s definitely from your side.”
“Impossible.”
“Are you sure?”
“No one would dare.”
The master was definitely a master. The confidence in his tone contained no doubts. It couldn’t have been his subordinates. Still, the source of this matter came from his side.
“The one who’s gossiped is you and not me. This matter leaked out from your side. Wait a second…” Ye Wei opened WeChat (T/N: WeChat, or Weixin, is a popular social media app in China), cut out the most summarizing piece of information that Cheng Jing sent to her, and sent that to him.
Luo Chengyu frowned.
“En”, is what he ultimately said.
What did he mean by ‘En’? Some people talked so much that it killed the other person, but he’s one who killed the conversation. Seeing that he didn’t mind it at all, it was no longer necessary to continue to talk about the matter. “Won’t bother your rest anymore. I hope this matter wont gossip over my head (T/N: Sorry, this is the literal translation. But as I understand it, she’s hoping that the situation in which she’ll find herself revealed to be the main protagonist of the rumor doesn’t occur).
“Also, thank you for the thing about <The Seamen>.”
“En.”
Ye Wei rolled her eyes on her end of the phone, “Bye.”
Just when she had thrown down her phone and walked to the living room, the phone rang.
She turned around and went back to answer the phone. It was Luo Chengyu. “What do you mean by gossip over your head?”
Ye Wei: “…”
This hadn’t been the most important point of the phone call, right?
