65th day — Divorce (1)

Lu Lincheng paused for a moment, then let out a quiet “Hmm” before turning around and leaving, closing the door behind him.

As he shut the door and turned, he hesitated once again, gripping the icy metal doorknob. He glanced back at Liang Yan in the room, clenched his teeth, and suddenly had the urge to tell her just how many “five minutes” had passed.

But he quickly dismissed the thought, let out a sigh, and walked away, closing the door firmly behind him.

Upon hearing that affirmative “Hmm,” Liang Yan’s heart skipped a beat. As soon as Lu Lincheng exited the room, she leaped onto the bed and buried her head in the pillow.

Liang Yan muffled herself for a while, holding her breath until her brain felt deprived of oxygen and she saw stars. Eventually, she released her grip and began pounding the bed incessantly in frustration.

Her face turned beet red, unsure whether it was due to the lack of air or the mixture of embarrassment and anger after receiving confirmation.

The feeling of others remembering everything vividly while she remained oblivious was incredibly agonizing. Liang Yan replayed the various reactions of the other girl in her mind, imagining countless scenarios. She even reached the point where she wished she could bash her head against the wall just to trigger a recollection.

Liang Yan tossed and turned on the bed, kicking the blankets around. Eventually, she reached under her pillow and retrieved her phone, sending a WeChat message to Jiang Mu.

Zhou Zhibo and the bald man were taken to the police station. As a public figure, Liang Yan couldn’t show her face, so Jiang Mu stepped in as the one who intervened in the fight.

Zhou Zhibo’s face was left bruised and swollen, resembling that of a pig’s head. Even the police officers couldn’t help but laugh while recording his statement. Jiang Mu, exhausted from the paperwork, was yawning as he left the police station. Suddenly, he received a text message from Liang Yan.

[Hey, do you think I could overpower Lu Lincheng with my combat skills from two or three years ago?]

[You know, the kind of strength that would allow me to pin him down forcefully.]

[That must be the reason why he started treating me differently later.]

Jiang Mu’s yawn froze on his face.

Liang Yan anxiously waited, clutching her phone tightly. After what felt like an eternity, she finally received a reply from Jiang Mu.

Jiang Mu: [……]

“On the set of ‘Enchanting Immortal,’ the filming was in full swing.

In the scene, Scholar (the Immortal) was engaging in a war of words with a group of little monsters, leaving them helpless and unable to respond. But that wasn’t the end of it. When the little demon girl approached, holding a roasted chicken, the Scholar (the Immortal) cunningly put on an expression of grievance as if to say, ‘Why did you come back so late? Your husband was just bullied by these little monsters.’

How dare they bully her husband?! Clad in a red dress, the little demon girl fiercely protected her husband. She threw away the roasted chicken and stormed into the frame like a burning flame, ruthlessly beating up the little monsters who had dared to bully her husband.

Since Lu Lincheng had made changes to the script for their previous intimate scene, subsequent revisions were made to the script as well.

That night, the little demon girl had been drunk and had a hazy memory of what happened. The next morning, she mistakenly believed that her passionate desires had overwhelmed the Scholar (the Immortal), and it was he who couldn’t resist carrying her to bed, indulging in passion. Unable to get enough, he couldn’t help but beg the tearful little demon girl for more, resulting in multiple rounds. However, the next day, the little demon girl wore a sorrowful expression, apologizing to the Scholar (the Immortal) as if she had committed a grave offense. She said, ‘Husband, I did something wrong last night. You can punish me however you like.’ The Scholar, satiated from the previous night, put on a fake expression of pain from their forceful encounter. Exploiting the little demon girl’s guilt, he feasted on her from that day forward. Thus, he embarked on a delightful mortal life, where he caused trouble outside and, if unable to overpower someone more powerful, would say, ‘Release my little demon girl.’

Liang Yan was infuriated while playing the scene of the little demon girl apologizing to the Scholar (the Immortal) after their drunken encounter. How could there be such a cunning and shameless Scholar (the Immortal) in this world? Then, every time she played a scene where the little demon girl fought for the Scholar (the Immortal), Liang Yan would get worked up and channel her anger into her fight scenes, earning the approval of the fight choreographer.

The director nodded with satisfaction as he watched the little demon girl fiercely beat up the little monsters on the monitor.

Lu Lincheng stood behind the monitor with his hands behind his back, watching Liang Yan’s beautiful and powerful martial arts movements, and smiled faintly.

“Cut.” After the actor finished the final move, the director called for a stop. “That’s a wrap.”

After completing the scene, there was a short break. Liang Yan left the set and glanced at the man standing behind the director’s monitor, then immediately looked away.

Ever since she received that affirmative response that night, Liang Yan felt uneasy whenever she saw Lu Lincheng. And now, thinking about the upcoming scene made her even more uncomfortable.

After the mischievous young enchantress finished defeating a few minor monsters on her husband’s behalf, she ran towards the Immortal Lord who was waiting for her with an inviting gesture. In the past, the Immortal Lord would often pat the young enchantress’s head, but today, as he saw her innocently and eagerly rushing into a fight, her cheeks flushed with excitement, he couldn’t resist the growing affection and fluttering in his heart. At that moment, he felt as if spending a lifetime with her in the mortal realm would be wonderful. He gently grasped the back of the young enchantress’s head and planted a tender kiss on her lips.

This scene marked the last sweet moment between the Immortal Lord and the young enchantress before the heart-wrenching turning point in the entire drama. The Immortal Lord would mistakenly believe that the young enchantress was entangled with the Crown Prince of the Demon Realm. Soon after, the main antagonist would resurface, and the young enchantress would be gravely injured while trying to save the Scholar (the Immortal Lord). As the Immortal Lord completed his tribulation and emerged victorious, he gazed at the young enchantress, her body covered in bloodstains, and the image of her he misunderstood with the Crown Prince flashed in his mind. Determined, he told himself that immortals and demons were different. If it weren’t for her kidnapping him that day, things wouldn’t have taken such a turn. With a heavy heart, he turned away, leaving the young enchantress lying on the ground, watching his resolute figure fade into the distance, leaving her heart in ashes.
