The Entertainment Industry Waits For Our Divorce - Chapter 131

66th day — Divorce (1)

The first kissing scene in the drama “Enchanting Immortal” went incredibly smoothly, thanks to the flawless performances of the actors. It was flawlessly captured in a single take.

Liang Yan used the back of her hand to wipe off the saliva from her lips and glanced up at Lu Lincheng.

She had expected the man who had added the scene without permission to feel guilty and avoid her gaze. However, he generously accepted her stare, even lowering his head to smile at her. His eyes were clear and gentle, whether they reflected the essence of Lu Lincheng himself or the character of the immortal lord from the drama remained unknown.

Surprisingly, it was Liang Yan who felt a tinge of embarrassment this time. She turned her head away, refusing to meet his gaze, and let out a slight hum of discomfort.

Meanwhile, Liang Yan’s inserted song, “After Meeting You,” was gaining popularity, and the TV drama “Benevolence” was on the verge of its official television premiere.

Benefiting from Liang Yan’s influence, the production team didn’t invest much effort in pre-broadcast promotion. The TV station only released two teasers, yet all eyes were fixated on Liang Yan’s post-divorce comeback in the new drama.

The TV station created various promotional videos for the different characters in the drama. The promotional slogan for Liang Yan and Zhong Ze read as follows:

“Join popular rising star Liang Yan and emerging young actor Zhong Ze as they portray a delightful love story between a composed intern doctor and a playful heir. Witness the captivating on-screen chemistry of Liang Yan and Zhong Ze, the perfect couple. Don’t miss the premiere this Friday at 8 PM.”

However, the phrase “the perfect couple” in the slogan didn’t sit well with many people.

[Why should just starring in a drama automatically label them as the perfect on-screen couple? What about our beloved pairings like “Heartwarming Collision,” “Liang Xu Yan Fan,” and “Yan Rain Cute Cute”? Are they being disregarded completely?]

“Heartwarming Collision,” “Liang Xu Yan Fan,” and “Yan Rain Cute Cute” are couple names that Liang Yan previously coined with other celebrities during variety shows. Although there hasn’t been much interaction between them lately, the fans of those pairings still exist and hold significant influence.

[Exactly, it’s one thing to acknowledge them as an on-screen couple, but declaring them the best on-screen couple? The country explicitly prohibits the use of words like “best” or “number one” in advertisements. By doing this, aren’t you disrespecting our beloved “Five-Point Couple”?]

Everyone: [Absolutely, look at how much recognition the “Five-Point Couple” receives… Wait, who exactly are the “Five-Point Couple” again?]

As the rival fan factions pondered the sudden emergence of this new “Five-Point Couple,” their discussions grew.

Fans of the Five-Point Couple: [Um, hi everyone! Allow us to introduce ourselves. We are the Five-Point Couple, formerly known as the Mountain Fire Couple. We recently changed our name, and we hope you all get to know us.]

“The Mountain Fire Couple” used to be the nickname for the fans of Liang Yan and Lu Lincheng when they were still married. These fans went through a tough time. However, ever since Lu Lincheng admitted to pursuing Liang Yan, these fans, who had already moved on, returned. But now they’ve changed their name to “Five-Point Couple”? Why did they do that?

Then everyone immediately remembered the video that was leaked last time, showing Liang Yan and Lu Lincheng entering and leaving a place within just five minutes.

[Hahahaha!]

[What a clever name! We surrender.]

In the airport lounge, Liang Yan was waiting for her flight while browsing her phone. Her jaw nearly dropped when she saw the trending topic of the “Five-Point Couple.”

After recovering from her surprise, Liang Yan couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

It seems like she won’t be able to live down the “five-minute” joke for the rest of her life.

It’s troublesome for Lu Lincheng.

No, wait. What does Lu Lincheng taking a few minutes have to do with this? Liang Yan exited the trending topic page and opened the main page of Weibo. Following the script provided by the production team, she posted a tweet promoting the premiere of “Benevolence.”

Fans left comments expressing their support, promising to be there in front of their TV screens.

“Benevolence” truly lived up to its reputation as a TV drama produced with integrity by the English Film Company. The viewership ratings skyrocketed, starting from third place across all platforms for the first episode and reaching the top spot after the first episode aired. Although Liang Yan didn’t have many scenes in the first two episodes, her character stood out with an impressive performance. She showed no signs of stage fright while acting alongside acclaimed actors and actresses. The audience’s response was overwhelmingly positive.

The official account of “Benevolence” released some behind-the-scenes footage from the filming of the first episode. Liang Yan’s first scene involved her character, an intern doctor, jumping into the water to save Zhong Ze. Despite not knowing how to swim, Liang Yan courageously dived in. As soon as the director called for action, she immediately got into character, even though she shivered after coming out of the water and had to wrap herself in a towel on the ground, which made the fans worry about her.

[Oh, Liang Yan is so dedicated! It really touches my heart as a fan.]

[Darling, if you can’t swim, we can always use a body double. Can you promise not to risk yourself like this again?]

【I heard that in “Enchanting Immortal,” our handsome actor has a lot of action scenes. Jun, you’ve worked hard in filming, and the fans have always been there for you.】

【Ah! If only the male lead in “Enchanting Immortal” wasn’t that person, Lu whoever. So annoying!】

【Don’t worry, the fans have already prepared an edited version of “Enchanting Immortal” without that person, Lu. Everyone can watch the version without Lu.】

Liang Yan’s dedication not only impressed her fans but also received positive reviews within the industry. Many people expressed their support.

“Benevolence” has consistently held the top spot in viewership ratings and online streaming. To celebrate, Liang Yan decided to take a break from taking selfies and singing and instead posted an acapella rendition of “After Meeting You” on Weibo.

It was a raw version of “After Meeting You” without any post-production tuning or background music.

After listening to the song, fans were left speechless. How did she manage to make them addicted to her singing?

You said it was a celebration, so why did you have to sing a song?

If it was just us fans, you could sing whatever you want, and we would endure it and praise you without hesitation. But now the entire internet is watching. If you sing a few more times, it could easily scare away casual viewers who might become fans. Don’t you understand?

Just honestly share your selfies and gain fans with your acting skills. Isn’t that enough?

Quickly remove the audio and post a couple of selfies to calm us down.

Liang Yan looked at the word “singer” in her Weibo bio and felt a sense of unease.

She had a group of fake fans.
