Your Most Faithful Companion - Chapter 10
Cen Sen said those words without any special intention, nor was he really paying attention to what was said. He was too busy with work, with no time to think about the impact his words had on the missy at home.
It was 2 PM in the afternoon. The sun shone high in the sky, transferring its heat onto the people through the summer breeze. The mass of cars near Ping City Financial Center traveled hastily on the streets.
After the lunch break, most white-collar workers carried their paper cups from the nearby coffee shops back to their respective companies.
It was Friday, and everyone was gossiping happily about getting ready for the weekend. The facial expressions of the two girls working at Junyi suddenly tensed up as they got the message and started to rush back to the company.
One of the girls soon became tired from walking in her high heels and asked, “This fast? I thought they said that he might not come to the office today.”
The other girl walked a bit faster but stopped and turned to wait for her. “You said ‘might’ yourself. If I knew what these people were thinking, I would be better off buying a random lottery ticket. That’s enough, hurry up.” she said as she gestured to her companion.

Junyi’s headquarters was located at the two connected buildings nearing the Financial Center, a towering geometric split-level structure that was extremely eye-catching.
The West building was the iconic Junyi hotel, the upper-class level hotel of Junyi — Hua Zhang Holdings. The other building was Junyi’s corporate office.
Today, the usually empty office building was filled by management level officers, starting with the lowest management level (Committee Affairs Leader) standing on the outside and the highest management level on the inside, splitting into two organized lines.
At 2:20 PM, three black Sedan cars arrived one after the other in front of the building entrance.
The Cadillac was the first, stopping at the front of the Roman styled column on the right side of the building. The second Bentley stopped right in the middle, revealing its dominance.
A young man with glasses stepped out from the co-pilot seat of the Bentley. He buttoned his suit while walking to open the backdoor. His back was bent to demonstrate respect.
Everyone at the scene held their breath and fixed their gaze on the backdoor of the car. Unknown tension gathered.
The afternoon sun was intensely radiating its heat, and the streets became burning hot with the leaves on the trees so green that it’s reflecting light. Within the smoldering heat and the noisy streets of summer, there was also the distant tranquility at the end of the zoomed out camera lens.
Cen Sen got out from the car, slowly straightening his back.
He had a heroic yet youthful appearance. Together with his long and straight figure, he released a naturally overpowering aura. From far away, he looked young and noble.
Not waiting for everyone to recover, the doors of the 2 cars next to the Bentley also opened. 6 assistants: 3 women and 3 men wearing suits and carrying suitcases got off from the vehicle, all standing half a meter behind Cen Sen.
Many upper-level managers came to welcome Cen Sen, but there were also some who didn’t show up on purpose to indirectly hint at their superior status.
The array of people expressionlessly walked inward. As they arrived in front of the elevator, someone immediately pressed the floor button for them.
“Executive Cen, I’m Executive Huang’s secretary. My last name is Yu, you can call me Xiaoyu. Executive Huang doesn’t feel really well recently, and he had been staying home to rest, that’s why he couldn’t be here today to welcome you.” Secretary Yu’s smile and his words seemed attentive and flawless, but his straightened back betrayed him. “Executive Huang also noted specifically that I shall serve you well. If you need to look at anything, just notify me, and I’ll take care of it.” His gentle tone conveyed a sense of prestige, in the perspective of a host.
There was a moment of silence.
Zhou Jiaheng stood beside the elevator with his body slightly bent, and his arms stretched out to let Cen Sen pass.
After Cen Sen entered the elevator, Zhou Jiaheng turned around towards Secretary Yu and said, “Executive Huang is getting older, it’s understandable that his health is not as good as before. Secretary Yu, please tell Executive Huang to rest assured and take good care of his health. Regarding the company, he doesn’t have to worry about it, he can spend his leisure time at home gardening.”
“Now that Executive Cen returned, he will take control of Junyi from now on. As a meritorious statesman who contributed many accomplishments for the corporation, Executive Cen will try his best to provide Executive Huang with the best quality life after retirement.”
Best quality of life after retirement?
Secretary Yu froze for a moment, not understanding what he meant.
Zhou Jiaheng didn’t wait for Secretary Yu’s response. He walked straight into the elevator and stood behind Cen Sen as he finished organizing his suit and changed the floor number to 68.
