Your Most Faithful Companion - Chapter 25
In just 2-3 days, Ji Mingshu had already packed 7 suitcases.
Actually, this would count as lightweight for her. She still had a dress in the haute couture factory waiting for pickup, and wearing that to attend the show in Paris will suffice.
Ji Mingshu was in a sunny mood, knowing that she’ll be heading out to waste money again; she even grinned at Cen Sen whenever they met.
Cen Sen didn’t really understand the fun in all of this; the only thing he knew was that every time Ji Mingshu attended these shows abroad, she would always come home with double the suitcase she left with.
Also, during this period, his charge card would update the balance every second, as if it was reminding him about his golden canary-like wife’s talented ability to make him bankrupt.
When Cen Sen graduated from College, Grandpa Cen gifted him a gulf stream as his graduation present, but he barely used it. It was only after he married Ji Mingshu that it was fully put to use.
Ji Mingshu rode the gulf stream to Paris, sleeping for eleven hours on the plane. When she woke up, the Paris sun had just risen.
A personalized car awaited her outside the airport. When she arrived at the hotel, the suite butler had already brewed coffee and prepared a variety of breakfasts for her. He had even placed the well-known brands’ invitations and gifts in the shape of a heart.
This room was picked by the butler beforehand and perfectly satisfied all her stylization requests. There was even a little surprise for her; the room number corresponded to her birthday, and her English name was sewed onto the corner of the bedsheet.
After she finished breakfast, Ji Mingshu changed outfits and was ready to go shopping.
Walking down the stairs, she suddenly recalled Gu Kaiyang, so she video-called over to see how the friend was doing.
As the vice editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine, Gu Kaiyang’s presence in the fashion week was indispensable, but as a team, she and the others had arrived in Paris two days prior.
She was inspecting the details of the dresses prepared for tonight when she saw Ji Mingshu’s video call request.
She had been so busy for the past 2 days that her head was ringing with vertigo. “I promise that I won’t criticize any marriage alliances again. You guys are living such a good life!” Gu Kaiyang complained endlessly when she saw Ji Mingshu’s glorious appearance in sunglasses walking downstairs for the sake of digestion from the other side of the screen.
“You can’t imagine! I haven’t slept for 2 days already! You don’t know how cheap my corporation is! It’s so weird how the company was still pretty generous before my promotion. Previously, the four vice editor-in-chief staff members lived in suites, and now it’s a standard room when it’s my turn?! Also, the entire room was filled with messy clothes, and there isn’t even enough room to stand! We’d be sleeping on the bridges if they became cheaper!”
“For real, I don’t want to work hard anymore! I’ll even marry a gay person’s memorial tablet to escape this fate!”
“Hold on, who’s the gay person?” Ji Mingshu sensed something weird from her sentence.
“Weren’t you the one that came up with the name? Not my fault.” Gu Kaiyang replied innocently.
Ji Mingshu wanted to retort when she suddenly glimpsed a familiar figure.
On the other side of the phone screen, Gu Kaiyang was still talking endlessly, but Ji Mingshu stopped and reversed the video camera, pointing toward a man and woman near the hotel reception desk.
At the same time, Gu Kaiyang, who sensed some worthwhile gossip, screamed excitedly within Ji Mingshu’s earbuds.
