My Groom Ran Away - Chapter 39.2
Honestly ever since she had moved to the villa, Ruan Zhiyin felt as though she and Cheng Yuelin got along much better than eight years ago.
Thinking about this, she looked at Ji Yijun and said, “I always wanted to ask, did you meet Cheng Yuelin a long time ago?”
“If you’re speaking about business, then I have previously invested in his company. As for other things, you should ask him.” Ji Yijun smiled as he finished speaking. After looking at her expression, “It’s not that I do not want to tell you, I think it would be more appropriate for him to say.”
After he said this, Ruan Zhiyin could not continue asking and could only change the topic.
“Then as for the shares, do you really not want them?”
Grandfather had given a big chunk of shares to her and she had even invited Ji Yijun back to help. Ruan Zhiyin did not really care about the shares, previously she was just worried that the Lin family would use it for bad things.
After all, the Ruan company was Ruan Shengwen’s lifeblood. But Ji Yijun was not the same, he had always treated Ruan Shengwen as a brother and with respect.
Hearing her words, Ji Yijun shook his head. “Yinyin, do not worry about me. Before being fostered by Uncle Ruan, I was not a rich young master. My current life is already enough to make me very satisfied.”
Although he did have some investments, he had no obsession to pursue more wealth.
Ruan Zhiyin heard this and sincerely said, “Thank you, it must have been hard.”
Ji Yijun smiled and waved his hand. “Now that you’ve returned, what future directions do you have in mind for the company?”
Ruan Zhiyin did not necessarily want to take over the Ruan Company, but now that it had happened, she had to be responsible for the company’s employees.
Lin Cheng was in charge of many large projects and had left quite a big mess, the Ruan Company needed to carefully choose the direction it wanted to move in.
“There are still quite a few workers in the subsidiary companies’ factories and many of them are old employees who have been working in the factories for more than ten years. I want to ensure they have a good retirement.”
“There are some industries that are quite lucrative, but with the Ruan company’s limited liquidity, it would be difficult to pursue and it would be hard to get involved. I would like a few of these companies to change industries, but as for the specific direction, I would still need to do some research.”
Ji Yijun carefully thought about it and nodded. “No rush, after the Beicheng project settles down, things will be more relaxed for the next few years.”
Ruan Zhiyin gave a mysterious smile and did not comment.

After they finished speaking, Ruan Zhiyin said good bye to Ji Yijun.
After she left his office, she took the keys to her company car and went to a different location.
At this time of day, people who came to visit the prison were very few. After sitting in front of the glass partition for a few minutes, Zhao Bing, wearing a prisoner’s uniform, was brought in.
A few months ago, Zhao Bing was still dressed elegantly, but now she looked wretched and haggard. On Zhao Bing’s imprisonment, it must have been partly Cheng Yuelin’s handiwork, but she deserved it.
That year, she had stolen the password to Father Cheng’s safe and had taken the Luo Wan project documents. Now that she was imprisoned, she still had not revealed if there was someone who was giving her orders.
“I heard you wanted to see me?”
The reason why Ruan Zhiyin had visited was because Zhao Bing had requested to see her and had asked someone to find her. Aunt Cheng understood Zhao Bing well and was able to guess her plans.
Knowing that the visitation time was limited, Zhao Bing paused and directly asked, “The Fang family wants to send Cheng Lang to his grandmother’s place. If you are willing to adopt him, I will tell the police what they want to know.”
She was already in jail but she was still thinking of negotiating.
Ruan Zhiyin smiled and rejected her. “That is impossible, Cheng Yuelin will not accept Cheng Lang. But I can send Cheng Lang to his aunt.”
“You will send him out of the country?” Zhao Bing frowned.
Ruan Zhiyin nodded.
Sending Cheng Lang abroad would mean he would be thousands of miles away. Cheng Lang would not be able to come visit, and this made Zhao Bing reluctant.
As she debated internally, Zhao Bing tried persuading Ruan Zhiyin. “All these years, Cheng Yuelin has not had any women next to him. Did you not know? Cheng Lang is still young and obedient, you can… treat him as your own child.”
“What are you trying to say?”
Ruan Zhiyin frowned, this was the second time that Zhao Bing was hinting this to her.
