Li Xiao turned around and courteously said, “Mr. Quan.”

Quan Yisen could feel the distance she was putting between them, and he furrowed his eyebrows. “Drop the formalities.” He paused before continuing, “You saved my life. You’re my savior.”

Although Quan Yisen had only been an exchange student this year, he had been popular on campus long before his arrival because of his family background and looks. Everyone’s eyes were drawn to him, no matter where he was.

Li Xiao didn’t want to be talked about on the campus forums again. “You’ve already generously compensated me. Our business is settled,” she said politely.

She turned around to leave.

Quan Yisen opened his mouth to say something, but he noticed the ring Li Xiao was wearing on her ring finger. The ring sparkled under the sun, causing the words that Quan Yisen wanted to say to become lodged in his throat.

Because Jiang Tiantian didn’t have any afternoon classes, they went out for a large meal. The restaurant Jiang Tiantian chose was a Michelin restaurant.   

Although Li Xiao wasn’t particularly interested in western food, she didn’t mind eating it. Because of her lack of experience with western dishes, Li Xiao let Jiang Tiantian do all the ordering.

Jiang Tiantian had eaten with Li Xiao numerous times, so she knew her tastes quite well.

Li Xiao was looking around the restaurant in boredom when she suddenly saw a familiar figure walking in through the door. He was dressed in a straight and elegant suit.

Wait a minute. Wasn’t that Ren Shaotang? Next to him was a woman in a small beige dress. Her hair was slightly curled, and she had a great sense of style. The two looked good together.

After staring at her, Li Xiao confirmed that she wasn’t the type of woman Ren Shaotang liked!

After Jiang Tiantian finished ordering, she followed Li Xiao’s gaze.

“Oh?”

“Do you recognize her?” Li Xiao asked.

Jiang Tiantian hummed in approval. “She’s Su Le Group’s eldest daughter, Su Lanqing.”

L Xiao instantly recognized what group Jiang Tiantian was talking about. Su Le Group was the largest electrical company in China, but the chairman was quite lowkey and rarely appeared in public events.

Li Xiao wondered if they were on a blind date arranged by their families.

Ren Shaotang and Su Lanqing ended up sitting by the windows, and Li Xiao’s angle gave her the opportunity to see everything that was happening over there.

Although she didn’t like Ren Shaotang, Li Xiao wouldn’t do anything if he didn’t provoke her first. It wasn’t like Li Xiao needed to remind Su Lanqing of all Ren Shaotang’s wrongdoings either. The internet was full of rumors about Ren Shaotang’s shit, so Su Lanqing wouldn’t be unaware.

The voice was crisp and full of anxiety, which stood out in the quiet restaurant. The voice sounded distinctly familiar.

Li Xiao turned to see Li Qianfei rushing from the doorway to Ren Shaotang’s table with a visibly shocked and confused expression that seemed to be condemning Ren Shaotang. 

Wait a minute. Ren Shaotang was meeting someone. How can she condemn him?!

He was unmarried, and so was the woman.

“Fei’er.”

Ren Shaotang faintly smiled at Li Qianfei, but his smile had traces of embarrassment in it. “Why are you here?”

“Uncle Ren, who is this woman?” Li Qianfei blurted.

Su Lanqing, being the cultured woman she was, ignored Li Qianfei’s rude behavior and smiled. “I am his girlfriend.”

Li Qianfei became furious. “Uncle Ren, is what she’s saying true? How can you do this to Mom?”

Li Xiao’s face was expressionless. She knew she had made the right decision to record their conversation! Li Qianfei had really said it! She actually wanted someone to be her mother’s side hoe for life! Once a side hoe, always a side hoe. How tragic!

She had to send a copy to Li Nanjue. Li Xiao wondered how Li Nanjue would feel when he heard the words of his beloved daughter.
