Your Most Faithful Companion - Chapter 27
But the thing about Jiang Chun is she fell in love with Yan Yu at first sight, and the sentiments she gave him were all real.
The Jiang family had many choices, and if not for Jiang Chun, they wouldn’t have chosen the Yan family, whose wealth had declined over the years and had shown no signs of rejuvenation.
Jiang Chun felt anxious seeing Ji Mingshu’s abnormal quietness and pitiful expressions. She sauntered towards the reception desk while turning back once in a while to peek at Ji Mingshu.
Ji Mingshu was still hesitating whether she should give a friendly reminder when she suddenly heard Jiang Chun yell in disbelief, “Yan Yu!”
Ok. Now there’s no need for her reminder.
Not far away, Yan Yu and the unpopular celebrity walked out from the elevator like a pair of inseparable twins, with their clothing different from this morning. Ji Mingshu wasn’t an innocent college student anymore; she quickly recognized that the two had had sex before leaving their room.
In reality, Jiang Chun had a decent appearance, but she also had a horrible sense of fashion; products from luxurious brands looked like cheap counterfeit products when she wore them. Meanwhile, the woman next to Yan Yu looked like a little white flower that had just gotten watered by Yan Yu. Jiang Chun formed an even clearer contrast with the woman when she attempted to make a scene out of their love affairs.
As expected, Yan Yu protectively stood in front of the little white flower and pushed Jiang Chun away impatiently.
“Are you done yet? Is it fun for you to create a scene here? Go look at yourself right now; aren’t you ashamed?”
“I’m shameful?” Jiang Chun’s eyes reddened, and large droplets of tears rolled down her face.
The previous push slanted Jiang Chun’s beret, making her curly hair and dress appear messy. It was an embarrassing scene.
That little white flower smoothly put on her mask and sunglasses as if she had rehearsed this scene before. She then hid behind Yan Yu and said in a low voice, “A-Yu… I can’t be on camera.”
Yan Yu patted her hands, then turned his head back to Jiang Chun with a frown, unwilling to spare her a single look. “We will handle our affairs when I get back to China. If you want to continue to make a scene out of yourself, go ahead, but don’t get me involved,” he said with extreme annoyance.
Jiang Chun froze in place as if she couldn’t believe that her once gentle and considerate fiance could suddenly change his temper at such a pace and would treat her this way.
Yan Yu protected the little white flower as they walked towards the hotel entrance. Not knowing whether it was intentional, the innocent flower bumped Jiang Chun’s shoulder on their way out.
Ji Mingshu couldn’t stand it anymore. She suddenly smirked. “How interesting! The playboy and his mistress don’t feel shameful about their affairs being caught, and instead, he thinks his legitimate fiance should feel ashamed.” Her voice wasn’t loud, but many could still hear her.
Yan Yu finally noticed Ji Mingshu. His face suddenly turned dark; he wanted to tell Ji Mingshu to mind her own business, but he swallowed his words upon recalling the relationship between the Cen and Ji family.
“Don’t you think it’s shameful? Our foreign fellows don’t understand Chinese, so should I translate for you and get you more ashamed?”
“Your fiance also gifted your accessories, so I don’t know where your confidence comes from,” Ji Mingshu mocked again as she saw the couple’s bridge watch on Yan Yu’s wrist.
“You!”
While Yan Yu could not say a thing, the little white was rather sensible. Looking as if she was gathering her courage and taking on all the responsibility, she bowed anxiously and said, “Ms. Jiang, I’m sorry! It’s all my fault, but can we talk about it privately in another place? Just not here…”
She even stepped forward to pull Jiang Chun, but was blocked by Ji Mingshu. “What are you? Move out of the way.” Ji Mingshu cut the little white flower off and once more fixated her eyes on Yan Yu.
Her intention was apparent: apologize.
Yan Yu, who couldn’t let out his anger, grit his teeth and finally nodded, saying, “Fine, it’s my fault. I’m the one who should be ashamed. I’ll explain what happened to Uncle Jiang in person when I return to China, but I’m going to leave now. I still have some other matters to handle.”
Ji Mingshu glanced coldly at him without stopping him.
There was no point in stopping him since he was still unwilling to act in Jiang Chun’s interest under these circumstances.
