Li Nanjue was no fool. Zhan Jiayin and Li Qianfei were not weeping with joy, but rather, sorrow. Did they have anything to do with the dead man? Did they know each other?
Although he was skeptical, Li Nanjue hadn’t thought of Zeng Lunnian for a while. After all, Zeng Lunian had disappeared after he married Zhan Jiayin.
Because of the badge, Qu Lian said nothing more. She was tempted to post a photo of Li Xiao on the internet, so she could help out the Li family’s reputation.
Now, there was no hope that Li Qianxing would be released. She could only hope for Li Nanjue to father other grandchildren to pass down the company property to.
Qu Lian looked at Zhan Jiayin and Li Qianfei. “Well, everyone’s here. Let’s eat.”
She wasn’t in the mood to ask about the reason for Zhan Jiayin’s tears.
In the meantime, everyone obeyed Qu Lian and ate quietly.
Unfortunately, the meal was destined to be chaotic.
As soon as Li XIao finished her bowl, the wail of police siren’s entered her ears.

Li Xiao glanced at Li Qianfei’s pale face and snorted before adding another scoop of rice to her bowl as if nothing had happened. Li Xiao hadn’t had the chance to eat her lunch on the plane, so now she was terribly hungry.
She was halfway through her second bowl when she heard the doorbell ring.
When Li Nanjue saw the police officers standing outside the door, his face fell.
Shortly after, the police entered.
When Li Qianfei saw them, her spoon clattered to the ground. She couldn’t care less about her unladylike behavior and waved her hands about in a panic. “Misunderstanding! It’s a misunderstanding!”
She thought the police were here because of her report.
The three policemen didn’t even spare her a second glance and walked up to Zhan Jiayin. “Zhan Jiayin? Please come with us.”
Li Qianfei stared at them incredulously. “It has nothing to do with Mom! Why are you arresting her?”
Zhan Jiayin stared at them blankly. “Me? Why do you need me?”
Did it have something to do with Jia Nan Entertainment?
“It’s about the bloody crimes Zeng Lunian has committed over the years,” the police said.
Zhan Jiayin was shocked at the mention of Zeng Lunian. What had Lunian done? Lunian had never told her anything, so why was she getting arrested?
Panic bloomed in Li Qianfei’s eyes. “If Uncle Zeng did something wrong, that’s Uncle Zeng’s fault, not Mom’s. You’ve got the wrong person! Dad, you have to explain it to them.”
Li Xiao shook her head. Li Qianfei was too naive. The police were coming to arrest Zhan Jiayin. How could Li Qianfei think she could stop them.?
In the end, Li Qianfei could only watch her mother be taken away, but she didn’t have the guts to stop them, so she just sobbed in the corner.
Qu Lian felt as though her family’s reputation had been destroyed, and although the police weren’t convicting Zhan Jiayin, she was being called over to make a statement because she was involved with another man, implying that her son was being cheated on.
Li Nanjue had been cheated on twice, and even if he had feelings for Zhan Jiayin, they gradually faded over time. He tiredly asked Li Xiao, “How much do you know about this?” He paused for a moment before adding, “Will Jiayin be okay?”
“I only know that after Zeng Lunian, who was saved by Zhan Jiayin, has killed hundreds of people. He has also done a great deal of harm for Zhan Jiayin, so the police didn’t believe Zhan Jiayin was completely unaware, so they called her over to make a statement.”
Li Xiao didn’t bother to feign concern for Zhan Jiayin.
